Video - How to Install a Lisy80 Board in a Gottlieb System 80
Fitting a Lisy80 board in place of the original CPU board brings a Gottlieb System 80, 80A or 80B pinball machine back to life, and it is simpler than it looks. The video below shows the installation step by step; here is the written recap so you can follow along at your own pace.
Before you start
Your Lisy80 arrives preconfigured for your game: there is no programming to do. All you need is a screwdriver, and always work with the machine switched off and unplugged. Take a photo inside the backbox before you unplug anything: it is the best reference you will have when putting everything back.
Installation steps
Unplug the connectors from the original CPU board (note exactly where each one goes).
Remove the old CPU board from its mounting.
Fit the Lisy80 in the original position, making sure it is the right way round.
Reconnect the connectors one by one, the correct way round (never force them).
Power-up and diagnostics
Plug the machine back in and switch it on: the Lisy80 boots straight into the game. You can then connect to its built-in web server from a phone or a PC to test lamps, solenoids, switches and displays: ideal for checking that everything works after the installation.
