Please check the model before ordering
Every board is configured for one specific game. Select the model in the list that matches your machine exactly — a similar model will not work. If in doubt, get in touch before ordering: we will check compatibility with your machine free of charge.
This is a diagnostic board, not a board for everyday play
The Lisy80 is built to find faults on a Gottlieb System 80: test every lamp, solenoid, switch and display from your phone or laptop. It runs on a small embedded computer, so it needs about one minute to boot, and its gameplay is not a perfect reproduction of the original — see the limitations below.
If what you want is simply to switch the machine on and play, the board you need is the GottFA80_Plus. For playing, it is markedly better.
Lisy80 — diagnostic & CPU board for Gottlieb System 80 / 80A / 80B
The Lisy80 replaces the original CPU board (and the troublesome Reset Board) and adds something the 1980s never had: a built-in web server. Connect your phone or computer to it and you can drive the machine element by element — light one lamp, fire one coil, watch one switch — instead of guessing your way through a fault.
It is the board restorers reach for when a machine is dead, erratic, or full of unknowns. Once the machine is healthy again, most owners fit a GottFA80_Plus for daily play and keep the Lisy80 on the bench for the next project.
Known limitations — please read before buying
We would rather tell you now than have you disappointed later.
- Fast switches can be missed. Very rapid switch closures are not always registered, so some shots may not score exactly as they would on original electronics.
- System 80B game speed is close to the original, but not identical. On 80B games the simulation runs near original timing without reproducing it exactly.
- About one minute to boot before the game is ready to play.
On a workbench none of this matters — you are testing one element at a time, which is exactly what this board is for. It matters a great deal if you intend to play. For play, the GottFA80_Plus is the better board by a wide margin: it runs the original ROMs on an FPGA, starts immediately, and keeps the original behaviour and timing.
