Audio Test: Settings and Verification Procedure
Before testing, configure the audio options correctly to faithfully reproduce the original board's behavior.
Step 1 — Configuring the DIP Switches (SB Opt / S3)
The integrated sound board's options are set via the SB Opt DIP switch block.
⚠️ Important: these settings depend on the game. For exact values, consult the corresponding Gottlieb manual.

DIP Correspondence (General Rule)
- MA55 and MA490 sound boards: DIPs 1 and 2 of the SB Opt block correspond to DIPs 1 and 2 on the original sound board
- MA216 and MA309 sound boards: DIPs 1 through 4 of the SB Opt block correspond to DIPs 3 through 6 on the original sound board
Built-In Audio Test ("Test" Button)

Pressing the board's "Test" button:
- on a speech-capable sound board, the Mini Player plays: "Tilt tilt tilt"
- on other sound boards, it plays: "oohhhhh"
This test lets you immediately confirm:
- the audio section is working correctly
- the sound signal and speech are present

Audio Settings and Sound Section Components

Adjusting Volume (Sound vs. Speech)
- 🟥 Potentiometer — Speech volume: adjust the level of speech if it's too quiet.
- 🟩 Potentiometer — Sound volume: adjust the level of non-speech sounds (effects, music).
⚠️ Note: overall volume is mostly controlled by the potentiometer located inside the coin door. Only use the board-level controls to balance the level between sound effects and speech.
🟨 Audio Amplifier (TDA7267)
If you have no sound at all even though the sound section's fuse is intact, the amplifier may be at fault.
It can be replaced with a TDA7267 (an equivalent part), widely available for just a few dollars.
⬜ Mini Player (Speech)
The Mini Player holds the speech audio files. It lights up blue when a speech clip plays, giving you a quick way to confirm it's working during testing.
Connecting the Sound Extension (A1J6)
To connect the sound extension to your machine, you'll need:
- the extension cable
- the A1J6 connector
Everything connects exactly as it did originally at A1J6.

⚠️ Important:
- make sure the cable color matches on both ends (main board side and extension side)
- make sure the connector arrow (circled in red) points toward the same-colored cable on both sides

Yes. The GottFA80_Plus V2 Full follows the original ROMs and reproduces the game's audio modes (sound and speech) with behavior identical to the MA55, MA216, MA309, and MA490 boards.
