Behind Pinballs.store there is no anonymous warehouse and no outsourced customer service. There is a kitchen table, a soldering iron still warm, two well-stamped passports — and two people.

Valère Pillet — founder

Valère grew up to the sound of bumpers. In the Pillet household, the pinball machine was not a piece of furniture: it was a member of the family, repaired on Sundays, admired in the evenings. That childhood passion he never put away. He carried it with him — quite literally — across Montenegro, Serbia and France, with Poland soon on the road ahead. Circuit boards in his luggage, his head full of ideas.

Today, at the helm of Pinballs.store, he spends his days doing what he has always done: looking for ways to improve, modify and reinvent the game of his childhood. Collaborating on the design of the FPGA boards that breathe life back into machines others believed dead is his way of saying thank you to the game that never left him. A quick shout-out, too, to Ralph, the designer of the Lisy80 board, without whom this adventure wouldn't look the same.

Haley — the compass

Born in Missouri, Haley spent her adult life on the roads of the world as a missionary, before setting down her bags last July beside the love of her life. Today she watches over Pinballs.store: management, customer service, and that gift for hospitality which means an e-mail received by us never feels like a ticket.

Together they live between two continents and are building what comes next — convinced that a pinball machine is not an object you own, but a legacy you pass on.
