Looking for LISY? The Lisy80, the ready-to-use LISY project (Gottlieb System 80)

Looking for LISY, lisy.dev or "lisy pinball" to get your Gottlieb System 80, 80A or 80B pinball machine running again? You're in the right place: the Lisy80 is the ready-to-use LISY project — a board that is manufactured, tested and delivered plug & play, with support and warranty.

What is LISY?

LISY is an excellent open source project created by Ralf Thelen (lisy.dev). The idea: replace the original CPU board of pinball machines (Gottlieb System 1 and System 80) with a modern board driven by a Raspberry Pi, plus a very powerful web diagnostic interface as a bonus (states of switches, lamps, coils, displays, sound). It's a major step forward for troubleshooting vintage pinball machines.

"Do-it-yourself" LISY vs the ready-to-use Lisy80

The LISY project is open: anyone is free to source the components and a Raspberry Pi, and to assemble and configure their board. It's exciting… but it takes time, equipment and skills — with no warranty or support if something goes wrong.

The Lisy80 from Pinballs Store is turnkey LISY: a board that is already manufactured, assembled and tested, ready to fit into your Gottlieb System 80 in a few minutes. Our boards are based on Ralf Thelen's open source LISY project, to which we contribute in return.

The Lisy80: a diagnostic-focused board

Lisy80 web diagnostic interface

The Lisy80 replaces the CPU board and stands out above all for its diagnostics: in a few clicks from your browser, you see the real state of the switches, you test the coils and lamps, you write to the displays and you play any sound from the ROM. Ideal for repairing and understanding your pinball machine. (If you are instead looking for an all-in-one, game-focused solution — CPU + Driver + power supply on a single board —, see the GottFA80_Plus.)

Compatibility

The Lisy80 is compatible with the Gottlieb System 80, 80A and 80B (Panthera, Spider-Man, Black Hole, Haunted House, Volcano, Mars God of War, Devil's Dare, Hollywood Heat, Arena…). See the full System 80 guide.
